firstly HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!! i’m hoping to get some more pride posts out soon :D i am here to bring some of my proudest designs to date to the table! they are of course of the flower husbands <3 created for the mcyt advent event collab! i created for these two lovelies alongside @pearlescent-poppies ! i fully encourage you check out his written piece for the collab for i am absolutely obsessed with it! below the cut you will find the og concepts for their fits along with a bit of an explanation of how i created them!

jimmy truly didn’t vary much at all, as i was pretty settled on my idea for him other than his pant pattern! with briars help we came to a conclusion that the poppies worked best! in the end i also ended up adding a sheer rainbow aswell to the field!! as for scott, i actually had three designs (third of which is not showcased here!) including a gown, a gown with a leg slit, and a short skirt with a trail type look!:3 we ended up settling on the trail style! im gonna call it the jellyfish look because it feels right

being that the event the collab takes place in a new year’s eve party, the idea of their outfits stemmed from that! i mean usually you wouldn’t spot someone wearing such extravagant outfits to a house party BUT when they are the hosts, how could i deny them the luxury?? i wanted to base scott off the stars and that of course will come with a deep blue of the night sky! now what pairs well with that? a yellow tinted by the sun of course! and that is where i built them off of! they each would have garments that referenced the others outfit whilst still having outfits that could standalone! scott got this very pretty poppy flower crown because i saw it while searching for references and couldn’t get it out of my head

btw they themselves also each have freckles!! scott has star ones and jimmy has normal ones :3

i apologize as i know that doesn’t delve into my process nor does it explain it all that well but i fear that’s exactly what it’s like in my head while working…

I love how Merlin’s way of showing affection is what he got used to while growing up: easy smiles, hugs, words of love and affirmations.

Meanwhile, Arthur’s way of showing affection is punches on the shoulders, gifts, sparring and taking people outside.

But when these two clashes, Arthur is not used to Merlin’s way of showing care, and Merlin doesn’t know what Arthur likes, and what he can do to make him feel better, because Arthur cannot articulate it, since he never had to do it in the first place.

So they’re left with nothing, with a mixture of the two, and they end up not doing anything about what they feel.

Suddenly, Merlin’s typical ways don’t seem to work with Arthur. Viceversa, Arthur’s perhaps harsher ways don’t work with Merlin.

And they’re there, asking themselves what could be done, and whatever is left to do. (fucking)
